Being is not what it seems,
nor nonbeing.
The world’s existence
is not in the world.

If your guide is the ego,
do not rely on luck for help.
You sleep through the day,
and the nights are short.
By the time you wake up,
your life may be over.

Night comes so people can sleep like fish
in black water. Then day.
Some people pick up their tools.
Others become the making itself.

There is a path from me to you
that I am constantly looking for,
so I try to keep clear and still
as water does with the moon.

We are the night ocean filled with glints of light.
We are the space between the fish and the moon,
while we sit here together.
