Days are sieves to filter spirit,
reveal impurities, and show the light of those
who throw their own shining into the universe.

Yesterday was glory and joy.
Today, a blackened burn everywhere.
On the record of my life,
these days will be put down as ‘one’.

I am filled with you,
skin, blood, bone, brain, and soul.
There is no room for trust or lack of trust,
nothing in this existence but that existence.

Longing is the core of the mystery.
Longing itself brings the cure.
The only rule is, ‘Suffer the pain’.
Your desire must be disciplined,
and what you want to happen in time, sacrificed.

I circle your nest tonight,
around and around until morning,
when a breath of air says ‘Now’,
and the friend holds up like a goblet
some anonymous skull.
